@WorldsBestPorn Yes, we have noticed, its been quiet. And yes that is an issue. And there are multiple solutions. First is, we can notify them over email to come back and check, but most probably this wont work like expected.
The ultimate goal is community moderation, and the core structure of the system is ready. Just its a very very big solution and will take massive amount or work. But it will be here as soon as possible.

At first users can start-up a vote to do something, and others from a special panel can add their vote or challenge it. Each vote type will have minimal parameters set for completion. For example combined moderation points (correct voting ratio) being met for accepting answer or deleting spam.

The level 1 accept will be modified a little, to avoid cheating however. So confirming posts for low level OP's is needed. So the low level OP cannot accept answers without someone confirming them first.
Sadly, people are confirming stuff, that is in wrong format, lacks proof or is straight up incorrect. So we will also introduce a negative effect for wrongful confirms at one point, that will be merged with community moderation.

Since there is also flood limits in place 1 post per 5 minutes and 24 posts per 24h. And when you have more then 100 possible answerable posts, you cannot post. We will make it so, accepting your own posts wont give you points.. So if you want to get rid of unanswered posts, but don't want to be accused of cheating, then you can relax and answer it for wiki-purposes and get no points for it.

But first we are working some critical hang problems related to those long thread posts. As we speak sites full media content is being converted and site will get faster.. This will take apx. 1-2 week total for 3 600 000 media files.

I have been away from this site for quite some time, and It has been recently brought to my attention that anons are no longer allowed here, and that Level 1 users can now accept answers. But what about older posts from anons? Should we not try to answer those anon questions, since without any moderation, our answers won't ever be marked as correct anyway? And what's the point of us confirming answers now if there are no longer any Mods to accept them as correct?

@dub Ok I see what you mean now. I don't see a problem in doing so. There is gonna be a general upload dump system, and with that this can be implemented.

(Follow-up) @Operator, sorry, I understood something else by indexing. I was thinking of taking the first frame of the GIFs we submit to ImageReverse, and searching for matches in the database, so we can at least have some kind of reverse search in the page for the GIFs we find on the web. Currently any GIF URL is rejected on ImageResearch, and it seems to me that could be a way to allow it. Could it be possible?

So basically the GIF format is being to replaced with mp4. Which doesn't really mean nothing, because visually there is no difference and there still be access to GIF. Just it will be much more faster and stable format, we can play with.

Sadly, there was a conversion issue, so currently chrome users got the full benefit, but all other users must wait till we re-convert everything with updated variables.

@Tyrion1 it is not you. GIF's stopped working on all non-chrome. Currently they work. We are going to work on more permanent solution.

The gifs on request pages aren't loading on my iPhone. Dunno if it is your end or mine.

@dub it should currently index the first frame.

Thanks for the answer! I don't really know, but couldn't it maybe index just the first (or middle) frame? It would be far from perfect, but it would at least allow us to find some of the previous posts for them. Thanks anyway!

Hello@dub as of right now, there is no direct plans for imagreverse, but the setup will be looked into. I cant promise if GIF will be ever reverseable, as each gif frame should be indexed.. Maybe. But GIF will get a update to be more faster.

Hi @Operator, are there any plans for ImageReverse? The results have always been a bit unreliable (they usually include several mismatches, and sometimes exclude almost-perfect matches). Also, for some time it has said that "For GIF's we have bigger and better plans". Any update on them? It would be really helpful to search for previous GIF posts. Thanks! :)

Just letting you guys know, that we managed to reduce render time for NTP. And generally, site should be faster. Sadly due to heavy traffic, some of the systems are hanging more then they used to. So we will try to find a solution for that, which could result in commenting being a big glitchy for couple of days.

@Anon_e1tqSfVq9iEbI user is banned. We will tweak the config some more to avoid such cases in future. We will also go over his posts, to make sure correct people receive their points.

@pornduke1 , a user previously unknown to me, has leveled up from 6 to 20 in 12 hours by accepting dozens and dozens of his own answers. It even appears that he answers his own questions right after posting them in what is surely one of the most egregious examples of "gaming" the system:

Is it a glitch that OPs can now accept their own answers? Regardless, it's clear that@pornduke1 is only after points and I suggest an immediate ban.

@NinNin we are currently trying out level-1 accept's. I cant say at the moment, that we will keep it like that. There are certainly many concerns about accept-quality.

Basically, if anybody has suggestions on this matter please email us. One thing that we will implement for sure, is that low levels can accept answers with X number of confirm votes. This ensures, that slightly higher levels can give their word, that the answer is correctly formatted and serves longer purpose.

Sadly however, we do see alot of wrongful confirms.

@Operator Currently, at what level can an OP accept an answer? I can't tell if there's been some recent moderation or if OPs at Level 1 can now accept answers.

@KeyMasterOfGozer Flagging the comment is correct way. The label there is from more moderated-times. Now the OP selecting answers rate is highest ever and mistakes will happen. Flagging wrong answer is the only way to do it.

Hopefully there will be a system for easier flagging, near in the future.

What should we do if we find a post that is marked "Correct", but is very easy to prove that it is wrong?

There is a Flag for the comment, but when I click it, it says "Its wrong answer" is not valid for a flag.

There is also a Flag for the whole post, but it seems to imply the whole post might get removed. I don't think it needs to be removed, but it needs to not be marked "Correct". The entry box for that doesn't seem very big to give proof or explain the problem.

There is more advanced flood limitations in place from now. Currently the setup is at 1 post per 5 minutes and max of 24 posts per 24h. Because, lets be honest, if user is posting more then that, then its highly unlikely he/she will accept any answers or even cares if they get solved.

Also if you have more then 100 pending posts (non-threads), with possible answers and lower accept ratio then 50%, then you need to fix that before posting new stuff.

Sadly, I have to mention too that there is a anomaly in verification emails system, which affects verifying emails negatively. We are figuring out the bug as we speak.

There is further big developments to come, so keep yours eyes open for glitches and please due let us know, if there is any issues.
