@alphapunk2 The way this site works is that points are given to the best answer regardless of how many users answer the post. The best answer have these following criteria:

1. The name of the actress and properly tagged
2. The title of the video if possible and properly tagged
3. A link to confirm your answer. If the post asks for a video, please provide the video link as your source of confirming your answer. If the post asks for name of actress, then provide a link confirming the actress.

If the post have these criteria, it doesn't matter if it's last, first, second, or third. It will get the confirms and have a higher chance of being marked as correct.

That's why there is a scavenger hunt link to the left. Those are either unfinished answers or just shit answers to begin with and you can use their answers to make your answer even better to get the points.

It's not stealing because a previous answer is shit and not tagged properly and someone else answer the post perfectly.

For example, look at this post you answered. It asks for a video and you only gave the name of the actress. You're not answering the question. If someone else comes in to answer with the name, title of video, and link to that video, they will get the confirms.

Is it possible to implement a system where answer stealing is not possible? There are a few questions that i've answered first, only to be overshadowed by a high level user answering after me and everyone else voting him right instead of me

Hmmm, well at the time that anon tagged you, can you recall how many notifications you had? Because again, if you had more than 20 waiting to be checked, then that could have been the problem. Even if you saw the comment under the latest comments column, that comment still could have been posted as late as an hour earlier. And if you have confirmed a ton of posts, your notifications can fill up in mere mins, pushing even recent comments out of view. It's truly something that needs to be fixed here. A notification should not vanish until you have checked it.

And yes, I just checked my notifications and I do see that tag from you.

@WorldsBestPorn Thank you for your reply. I was alerted to your tag and it was at the top of my notification list because I don't have any other notifications. An anon tagged me today because he wanted me to solve his post but I didn't receive an alert. I was aware of this because I saw it under the Latest Comments column. I was wondering if this was possibly another glitch among the others I've asked about below.

I think you are being notified when tagged, but the issue may be the limited amount of space you have to check those notifications. Here's what I mean, when you click the notification drop-down menu, it only shows you the 17 most recent ones. And if you click see all, it only shows you the 20 most recent ones. So the "all" part of "see all" is misleading, which means if someone tagged you in a notification that was 21st on the list, it won't show you the notification. I found this out a while ago when I was away from this site for a week, and then checked my notifications. I only had 20, which seemed a bit low to not have been here for a full week. Hell, when I don't go on FB for a week, I have 99+ notifications. lol But anyway, when I checked followings, there were tons of videos that had been answered while I was away and I got no notifications at all that they were solved. So I'm sure if someone tagged me during that time, I did not get that notification either.

Let me know if you got THIS notification, and if so, in order to test my theory, tell me if it was within the top 20 of your notification list.

@Tigro We cannot delete our own posts, only our comments. I agree it would be helpful for users to know what privileges are available at certain levels. I see users at all levels confused about this. Once at Level 5, a user has full privileges.

Is anyone else not being alerted when another user tags your name in a post? It appears sometimes I am and other times I'm not. And, yes, I am being tagged correctly. I've noticed this in confirming comments and in seeing my name tagged in the Latest Comments column.

@woxter19 is correct: A name tagged with square brackets, if not previously in the database, remains in bold until the answer is marked correct. Names with special characters, such as in your example, "[shy_jane]", are exceptions.

Now's as good a time as any to ask@Operator why names with special characters can't be added to the database. This leads to some confusion when deciding how to tag a name.

Also, I have noticed recently that some names without special characters remain in bold even after the answer is marked correct:

last days I notice something with name tagging. While I tag the names with square brackets, most of them appear "normal" (with red color), but a few other just bold. Many times at the same comment.

What do I not understand? Shouldn't everything be red when I use square brackets?
