While I appreciate the response@herkalurk I can assure you there have been posts marked correct by AM within a day with only 1 confirm, a high level Member like NinNin. Maybe the AM's coding has been updated since the last time I saw that happen but I know as fact it HAS happened before.

@barelylegalfan the automod won't mark an answer correct for a minimum 4 days from when the answer was created, even with the confirms. It's who needs to confirm to get the answer through based on your own answer history and theirs is the answers we don't know. I understand the frustration. I have answers that have sat for years. I've started going back to my oldest posts, making sure they're up to current answer standards, and reposting them to the confirm thread.

@shria to further the response from@Yoni the way the auto_moderator works can be ultra frustrating. Posts have been marked correct within 24 hours and only a single Confirm while others have 3,4,5 or more Confirms and sit for literally years without the AM marking as correct.

While none of us Mortals know the exact algorithm for the AM, figure on these rough concepts:

-If you are low Level, forget getting your answer marked correct without a ton of Confirms.
-If you have EVER confirmed incorrectly (even if the answer was technically correct but a Human Mod decided to mark it as Partial, because reasons) all your future Confirms will be weighted poorly.
-If you have very high Level, you can answer questions with almost zero verification, use dead links as your "proof", be the only confirm, and still get a super fast AM "Correct" marking.

To level quickly so your "score" is weighted with a higher value by the AM, go into the Please Confirm page and add your Confirm to those higher Level Members (they usually post a dozen or so at a time). That's how all those with a super high Level got theirs up, so why not you ;)

When trolling through the way-back pages in the show open only area, I come across requests that can't be answered due to the thumbnail and media being dead links. Should I flag them as unanswerable-all media is 404? I'd really like to get these posts deleted as the solved percentage would go up :)

Chiming in on some of the previous topics.

I agree with NinNin. If pay sites are to be considered valid confirmation. I'll save everyone a bunch of time and give out two super secret sites where you can buy a lot of the posted videos: www.brazzers.com and www.bangbros.com.

Besides, how are we supposed to confirm if the paid video actually works/is the correct video the OP is looking for? Buy the video/a subscription to said site just to confirm? If there were only sites that provided the video in question for free...

As far as using previous posts as confirmations, I don't think they should be valid for the simple fact that people are flawed and lazy. Plenty of times a post is marked as correct when it clearly isn't so the same incorrectly marked as correct post is used over and over again as proof. I can understand it saves some time, but how hard is it to copy/paste? I mean have you heard of Ctrl + c and Ctrl + v?

@Anxiousexy I agree, if you're going to use a previously answered question as your reference, there should be a working link in it.

Under current guidelines, the answer could have been declined for lack of proof. But I see why it received confirms. Ideally, one (or all) of the confirmers would have asked@giovanirock to update his link, but most of these answers slip through the cracks.@barelylegalfan you were right to bring it up.

@barelylegalfan I agree, the FAQs need to be updated. I've been asking that for years on this thread. Regardless, when the question asks for a video, a link to a pay site is not sufficient. If it was, then we've all been wasting our time trying to find free video links!

@Anxiousexy you have it completely backwards. I complained because my 100% correct answer was marked by a Human Mod as partial because it 100% correctly linked to the full paid version of the Video. At no point did the OP ask for a FREE version of it. Then that Human Mod linked the FAQ's as reason for marking it as Partial, later stating it was because I linked a paid version of the video instead of free but literally nowhere in that FAQ does it state video links MUST be free.

A Human Mod deprived my 100% correct answer from being marked correct by using flawed logic and poorly written FAQ's. You can claim umbrage all you want, but I'm still correct in my complaint.

@gricnime yes you are right, only the name is requested but a video for confirmation is also necessary, and there’s no video. Clicking on her name tag you will realize that the questions with this GIF/pic all are answered provideing the same video, which is now dead. That link was acceptable as confirmation then but now isn’t, so technically it lacks proof.
I know videos are taken down in seconds but this doesn’t seem the case.
What’s really important it’s what I was trying to explain to @barelylegalfan: how AM works, streaming links work and constructive criticism. What he ignores is that OP has the right to accept answers without name tags if he wants to

i don't see the point of this debate. the question was the name of the porn star, giovanirock provided the name and the link to the post as a confirmation. so why should the linked post or the reference post have a working video if that was not even requested? And that "dead" video was posted 2 years ago! videos are sometimes deleted in matter of days or hours. so why should years be exception.

the question was "where can i find this VIDEO" not who is this porn star and where can i buy her videos. so, and maybe this is just me, when someone provides the working video and the op accepts it, well, who is the idiot here? the guy who is missing the key ingredient to the question asked or the mods? so, again, there is a pointless debate here all because one user keeps missing the obvious.

@NinNin what’s more likely? A 2 yo video deleted shortly after people have confirmed the answer as correct or lazy confirmers hungry for points in the confirm thread? Cmon you already said it: it happens everyday and this makes me think the penalty for wrong confirm is too little
But I have too agree with you that AM isn’t responsible for wrong answers, people are. 1 wrong confirm= 7 days of being unable to confirm answers and drastically reduce the “weight” of his confirms would make it more punishing

@barelylegalfan It’s simple: rules are like 6 yo and haven’t been updated since, it’s time for a refresh
But please make constructive criticism: don’t just trash mods, instead help the community suggesting how it can be improved

@NinNin it's 100% valid to hold the AM and Human Mods accountable for discrepancies in marking Threads as Correct or Partial. As for the AM marking correct a post with Confirm bombs even when the proof link is a dead link, that literally proves the AM is flawed.

The fact that the Mods/Owners of this site refuse to acknowledge and then work to fix/improve the AM shows their worth.

Then you have shit stains like Hurkalurk (sp?) that constantly tells others how to answer when he doesn't even stick to that methodology is his own answers.

@Moderator, irrelevant if people come here for 'Free' vs 'Paid' videos. When a Human Mod links the Rules as to why they marked an answer as Partial, then those very same Rules should state clearly that all confirm video links MUST be Free, otherwise the Human Mods can fuck off and stop marking Answers as Partial using that excuse.

@Anxiousexy We don't know when the link was deleted. But if an answer with a dead link was confirmed by a handful of users, this may be an example of sloppy confirm trading on the confirm thread, which I see every day.

Ultimately, the integrity of this site depends on its users. Hold each other accountable rather than blaming auto mod or mods.

@NinNin nope. Giovanirock posted 4 days ago as reference a 2 yo answer with the video requested by OP. He hasn't edited the answer/comment since. I think it's safe to say he didn't check the link but just looked for the same image to see if it was solved before without thinking that a video link could be dead after 2 years

@barelylegalfan @Anxiousexy I think it's more likely that the video was deleted after the question was answered and received at least some confirms, which are quality confirms. It's not unusual for a video to be deleted from its source within hours of posting an answer.

As far as the "rules", they haven't been updated in years. It's more helpful to refer to@Yoni 's noob guide pinned at the top of this thread which was vetted by@Operator .

@barelylegalfan AM doesn’t have any flaws, what orientates its algorithm is the number of confirms and the trustability of confirmers, this means that the actual human moderator is more likely to fail to accept the right answers than the AM. I don’t know if it’s worse a level 200+ answer adding a dead link or 10 people confirm-bombing without checking the source first.
Regarding the free links... NTP differentiates between original publisher links from embed videos, the first ones are used as proof/reference and the latter as streaming sources. It’s pretty obvious that nobody comes here to search for a video that has a big fat watermark like HardX if he’s already a paying member of that site
