By the way, your answer is not really complete as well. I definitely wouldn't confirm it with the new rules, since you now get penalized for confirming wrong answers. Yours doesn't have any proof at all. Just a name. The only way I could tell if that's correct is to do the research myself. At least you could have copied the info from the anonymous poster below your and formatted it correctly.

That said, the anonymous answer also should not be correct. I've been told before by the Operator, that you can flag incorrect answers and they will get around ot correcting them.

For those that are on mobile and can't see the webm videos (I can't), just touch on "source" and it will open a new tab with the gif

So we added 1 search per 10 seconds flood limit to search function yesterday and I personally think, that it fixed the hang issue. Most probably there was some malicious behavior on trying to crash the server and now it is more complicated.
Let me know, if the 10 seconds limits your usually search needs too much. We can put it less for regular users.

@gricnime I think thats a fair point. We will remove the chance of negative points for the missing video decline feature.

@PmMeGifsForSauce The GIF's are still available, I just have not yet added a button for it. But it will happen hopefully soon. Problem with gif's is that they are so slow and big. mp4 and webm is much more faster. It is a matter of time until google starts accepting webm and mp4 short clips as gif's as well. You can however try to replace the .mp4/.webm ending with .jpg and get the main thumbnail like that.

The NTP reverse image search took a major hit yesterday and we need to add a flood limit there. too many queries at once, just kills the site at evenings UTC time.

Hey guys, I just noticed i got negative points for confirming the incorrect answer. The post had a correct answer but the video got deleted while the post was waiting to be approved. We all know how long some post might wait for approval and we all know some videos will be deleted in that time. Even now, out of 15 ppl in average who follow one thread only 2,3 confirm it, so how will this motivate them to further confirm posts? Why should i be "punished" for trying to do the right thing?

Posting images still work with other search engines. Currently, the NTP search engine is down until a patch can be added to it. GIFS, on the other hand, have been converted to MP4s, so you'll have to convert them back to GIFS if you want to post them in search engines now.

I was away for a while, and came back to a lot of good changes, only change I have an issue with is copy pasting of the images. Now I can't just copy pics and gifs and submit them to search engines. How can I go back to being able to do that?

@clueless_pornster thank you for noticing. Its been a busy 2017, but we'll go stronger in 2018. There is going to be at least 3-4 major upgrades, that will reduce hangs and improve overall speed and usability. And of course we are making progress on review pool, which will make things a lot more fun. Thank you again and stay tuned for more updates :)

If you accept your own answer, then you don't get any points. This is a rare thing to happen anyways, but no points means less cheating.

UPDATE

Another big performance upgrade, we have removed a major bottleneck and that will make the site noticeably faster and will enable us to put our focus on developing other features.

Added icons that will notify you of new messages, friend requests and regular notifications in the user dropdown.

In order to avoid loading all notifications on every pageload, you'll have to click to open the notifications. This is a temporary solution until we redo the header, but will improve the site's performance greatly.

Temporary message limit is now set at 250 instead of the previous 50. Temporary measure, until messaging system can be fully developed.
