Here is a great example why low level OP shouldn't be allowed to accept answer.

I provided clear proof that the person proposed wasn't correct, guy just accepted anyway.

Let automod handle the answering.

@Yoni we have artificial systems for such things. But sometimes these things just happen. It should be cleared now.

@Yoni that's a lot of reporting...., I just got back and it goes on for the first 25 pages, and i think the person(s) still posting.

I'm glad I thought to come to this Thread and check because I was getting tired of reporting so many spammers. Now I realize someone, @Yoni, already did the good work!

Not sure if this is the correct way to address this, but why are others who answer a question with less details have their posts marked as Correct ?

I'm sure others have spent time grabbing details and links to give an informative answer, then only for their answer to be skipped passed and ignored.

This is very frustrating, annoying and the rest.

@salieri6 That's a great suggestion and something we have considered ourselves as well.

So 99% this will be done in the future. Most likely after user voting for "bad" quality answers is completed.

Looks like auto_moderator cant solving answers in short time. There are +1100 comments in the confirm thread and it is thickening every moment.

Like this situation (I cant getting points nearly 1 month until yesterday. I have +80 bounty answers waiting to be marked as correct.) discourages members like me about finding answers for new posts.

The problem is members dont confirm answers. For +10 points.. Who can blame them ?.

Answering bounty questions gets more points but why correcting bountys still gives +10 point ??

I have solution about it with this new formula.

+10 to confirm + %5 or %7 bounty value = When accepted you get the point for confirm.

For 500 point question 10 + 500x0.05 = 35 point.

Thus members will be eager and problem will be solved if you bring us kind an arrangement.

Completely changing topics, it would be really cool to see in the answers tab of the user profile how many points were received for a particular answer. I like how it says what question was asked, and what text answer was posted, but it's just a neat piece of statistics that would be cool to see.

Also, I found a glitch in the formatting of the table of the user information on the user profile. See below images where my favorite pornstar name pushes down the answers value and joins the below row.

@NinNin I did put that question on the confirm thread, however it's up to the confirming user to cast their vote. I didn't make them choose mine. I generally choose the first correct answer I see, so the better question would be to ask the 4 users that confirmed my answer why they chose my answer over the other.

I understand users pouncing on previous answers. I got notification the other day a reply was on a watched thread of mine. Turns out someone has put in an answer to something I have already submitted a valid answer to quite some time ago. What's even more ridiculous, the user already confirmed my answer, then put in their own to grab the points for themselve.

I understand your reasoning not wanting to have a cut throat culture of stealing points, especially with new users who may/may not fully understand what they're doing yet. It's why with new users I, like you, have been telling them when their answer is correct, but needs a little help. The user I'm potentially stealing points from has been around long enough to know what should be included in a good answer. I'll put again, that this particular user hasn't done anything for a year, so they wouldn't have been around to see the trusted sites addition, and other such changes.

@herkalurk Didn't you receive confirms for your answer because you asked for them on the confirm thread? Your argument about the community having the opportunity to vote for the other answer may not be fair.

Many of us do pounce on other users' answers, but do you really want that to be common practice? Personally, that's not how I like to receive points.

@NinNin I'm trying to get solid understanding of exactly what is considered good source material. In this occasion the video was uploaded by a publisher account, but that won't always be the case, so should any video upload site be considered a trusted source because of that possibility?

The Mod also mentioned supporting the community. The community had an opportunity to vote for the other answer and didn't. It seems like there are a few people who believe that the video site is enough, but no one voted for it except the Mod which of course is always the deciding vote.

Shouldn't we be helpful to those users trying to follow those guidelines set out? I know I've had it out a bit in this thread, but I'm trying to get real consistent answers so that we as users know exactly what's expected of us. I've been able to point out some inconsistencies in the way answering requirements have changed recently and what is considered correct or acceptable.

Finally I don't have any sympathy about points stealing from a user who literally hasn't logged in for at least 1 year.

@herkalurk It sounds like you're trying to justify stealing a perfectly good answer.

@NinNin I'll take that, but it doesn't diminish the point that sites like that as proof is a bad road to go down, especially when we do have content provider sites and the trusted sites list. Also, there is no way to know it was submitted by the content provider unless you click the link. It's why trusted sites were created so we could clearly see without clicking anything that the link is from a good source.

To be fair@herkalurk , the video was submitted by the official site, so it is not a user submitted video.
