@RB29 Answers from google search results link. They do not need to be confirmed. Because they are not permanent. We confirm the first complete response. I also get very annoyed when they share a name and some already solved question. The most important thing in an answer is a source or proof link.

Yeah, I get that. I'm just a bit peeved when people confirm an answer that's basically just "here's google search results of the answer that was already given"

I'm just speaking from my own experience here. If someone answers a question and I find that answer years later, I look at it. If I myself have to search for minutes to be able to confirm the name, the answer is of low quality for me and I answer with a high quality answer. If you can immediately and clearly see that the answer is correct, it simply belongs confirmed, I think.

If I saw such an answer years later, I would not accept it. There is no proof of the name. In this case, if you click on the name, you can see that it is the correct name, but unfortunately this is not always the case or sometimes you have to click through different pages, which again means a poor quality answer.

AnsweredWhat's the community stance on digging up old questions with unconfirmed answers, copying said (assumed correct) answer, adding extra links and a pretty picture and submitting as your own answer? Had some incidents where a question asked for name only, so I just throw them the name and a social media link and go about my way. A few years later, someone pops up and gives the same name, attach some extra links and an image and use it as their submission. Like ok, I already did the heavy lifting and identified the source, and now you're just going to google the name and attach some extra stuff literal years after the fact?
I don't really care about the points, I'm just wondering about the principle of people confirming an extremely late answer that's just the already provided answer with extra bells and whistles. But if everyone here agrees that whoever includes the most stuff to their answer regardless of timing or the original question gets it, then I guess I can't complain

You start earning EXP by answering other people's questions.

As a brand new level 1 account, you're limited to post 5 messages every 24 hours, also with a 5 minutes cooldown between them. So try to make the best of it.
As a fellow new member myself, I'd suggest you to try to answer questions from active members first: see a question you know the answer for, check if OP has had any activity (new question or comment) on the past 12~24 hours, write your answer and format it properly, and finally post it.
Then wait for it to be accepted by either the OP, the AutoModeraor or a human Moderator.
Make sure to follow the required Tagging format:
Low level members cannot edit their answers, so if there has been any typo or incorrect info, they'd have to post the whole answer again, wasting one of their 5 daily free attempts to interact with the site.
Regarding level point requirements, I am not sure myself either, since I'm new as well, but I've noticed that older messages reward more EXP, so try o look for some unsolved 8~12 months or older thread for fast EXP if you're in a hurry to level up.
Again, check if OP has been active lately, because answering a thread from someone who hasn't been online for over a few weeks usually means they won't manually accept your answer (since they are not online), and you'll have to rely on AutoModerator (which might take days, weeks, months or even forever, depending on feedback by other members).
Also keep in mind that you cannot get multiple levels at once (if you somehow earn enough EXP to get two or more levels, you won't earn a second level until you've done some activity that would give you some more EXP). So don't push yourself too much trying to get lots of hard-to-answer questions.

Hi. I cant seem to post pics here. Says Im too low level. Cannot find any info on the level upgrade system here. What are the levels, points, required?

For auto moderator to acceot them, you have to format them correcrly (you got tagged under one of the posts you answered with instructions how to do that)
