@NinNin yeah, auto accept.
I agree the problem isn't the auto_moderator, but it's exploiting a function of how the auto_moderator accepts answers. Thus, a solution could be to alter how it works, because changing people's behavior is pretty much a dead end. Basically changing how it ranks responses, with timeline taking precedence over confirms, if the answers contain the same tags and sources.
I'm not really against trading confirms, as long as it's for rightfully posted answers, not for copy/paste versions of already posted answers.

@BongoClown Do you mean "auto accept"? There is no auto confirmation. It's hard to ask admin to do anything manually when the trend is toward automation. And, if you haven't noticed, a lot of us complain (on this thread!) when moderators intervene.
The problem isn't auto moderation; it's the users who choose to confirm one answer over another expecting to receive confirms in return.

@NinNin ah, gotcha. Seems like it should be an easy thing to fix the auto_moderator to check for that though. If an answer with a lot of confirms has the same name tags as a previously posted answer don't autoconfirm it, but rather flag it for manual confirmation instead. It is in a way gaming the auto_moderator, since I guess those who do this know that posts with a lot of confirms will get accepted by it.
@Prickster no problemo!

@BongoClown MasterX posted the answer on the confirm thread, where users are in the bad habit of trading confirms. This is more a gaming of the confirm thread than auto moderation.
Your answer was fine as is and should've received the requisite confirms. Adding images to an answer that in and of themselves are not proof and are already available in the link you provided is superfluous.

@Prickster no, that's fine. You only asked for the name. Anything beyond the name and a source which confirms it, while good form, is a surplus.
The opposite is more frowned upon, if you ask for the video but do not provide the name of the stars involved (if known).

I am new to NTP, need a bit of help with this one. I posted a GIF earlier this day asking for information regarding it's origin. I did not specifically ask for the video from which the GIF was extracted, rocobo's answer does not contain the source video either. He did however provide the correct name and the supporting link to her PornHub profile. I usually try to provide the source video in my answers, even if it's hard to find, and I am sure a lot of people here try do just that. Still rocobo's answer is good enough for me, it gave what I needed. Will accepting his answer go against NTP community guidelines??
NTPians, spare some time for this one. I'll confirm before long.

AnsweredCould someone explain this to me. I answer this post more than two weeks ago, and provided a source. A few days ago MasterX comes in, posts the same answer, with the same source, adds some additional photos, gets A TON of confirms (my answer doesn't have a single confirm) and his answer is taken as the correct one? Is this okay behavior to just go and more or less copy verbatim someone else's answer now? Seems like it's just gaming the auto_moderator.

OP
Due to the massive floods and discussions in this thread, our response time is SLOW.
Discuss in the private messages. You can also private message me. This is for general public, repeating questions only, that can help others in the future.

@Operator
We really need to do something about the ability to accept or confirm posts with names that are not tagged. Just now this post was confirmed by the OP with an untagged name, despite there being an answer with the name tagged properly available. This means that this image now won't show up on her page, it's essentially just an orphan adrift in the sea of other posts, helping no one.

Answered@NinNin Thanks for explaining. I tried referencing SURLs in a few of my answers. Didn't work out.
@Odetomaybe Bear in mind that this is my understanding of the "rules" as I see them being applied. It's helpful to think of them more as "expectations".
We rely on moderators who follow "guidelines", as has been explained (again, rather than "rules"), because auto moderation simply doesn't catch every answer.

@Odetomaybe That is not a SURL answer, this is:
What's her name and where can I find this video ?

@Odetomaybe well frankly, we don't know how many people come here and search and finds what they need before even joining. So while the driveby, no rule reading, joiners might seem high the actual number of people who come here and don't do that, but slip by entirely unnoticed, may be vastly higher. No way of knowing.
Sorry if this has been answered somewhere, but how might I search for posts with multiple tags? I've looked everywhere and tried multiple variations but I can only look at one tag at a time.
@Operator more multiposting, newer users clearly need harder limits

@Odetomaybe An answer that is only a reference to a previous answer (referred to as a SURL, or "short" url) without tags is generally declined by moderators, with the exception of older answers--at least one year old. There doesn't seem to be a hard and fast rule in regards to this, but an emphasis has been placed on using tags for over a year.
An answer with a link to a profile page is superfluous. It's no better than just a name tag. There's been an emphasis on adding confirm links, as well, to all answers. There may be the rare exception, but the general rule of thumb is not to assume that which is obvious to you is obvious to others.
This has all been discussed in one way or another on this thread. I remember because I was accustomed to using SURL answers for repetitive questions, then became dismayed when they started to be declined. Adding confirm links is just good practice.
@Operator /@Don may want to chime in on this matter.

Yes. SURL answers, which is what that's called, was allowed until about a year or so ago. After some discussion on this thread, those answers began to be declined due to lack of tags. But older answers in that format should be honored.
