As you're still at Level 1 you're unable to accept a correct answer unless someone else has confirmed it first.

"Level Privileges
Some restrictions are stablished depending on your level, this rules are stablished by the Admins and prevent some exploits from occurring.
Level: 1
The lamest among them all, this user is new to the site (I bet over 80% of the users total is in here, because of the ancestral hit & run technique) only able to post, edit & delete (its own post obviously ), cannot confirm others nor accept an answer on his own, if it was not first confirmed by a third party. And you can send messages to other users.
Level: 2
Basically the level 1, but can direct upload, meaning it can upload an image, please Don't be Quality king/queen (See comment #1020493).
Level: 4
You can now edit your comments and post, Oh and by the way, you also can have a thread of your own (Yup, just like this)."

I can't validate a response by clicking "Correct answer" (when I do, nothing happens).

@IsThisTooYellow - I'll reply here since it seems like a more suitable place. Well, to reach level 5 you need to earn more points by answering various requests and waiting for them to be confirmed. You could try replying to older, unresolved ones from a few months or even years ago—they usually give you a lot more points. You also earn points by validating your own requests.

Points range from 25 for a new question to over 3,000 for very old unsolved questions.
You can also gain points by confirming answers from other users. These are worth 10 points each.
Please be aware that answers have to be marked as solved in order for you to get the points.
The easiest way is for the OP (original poster) to mark an answer as correct.
Unfortunately, this rarely happens, particularly on older questions.
