Because of the voting glitch. I have reset all downvotes on everything and turned on the privileges module. So downvoting is minimal for level 5.

I see that you have arrived and already have been fixing some problems, and the Confirm button...
I think that most of us, especially those who were a little upset with downvotes, will resume the searches with more enthusiasm.

We have some VIP users yes. We basically mark the most reliable users, who use nametags and are always right. So we can find their comments easier.

Favorite posts work as designed. However following posts doesn't have a notification module hooked yet.

And I can see you and zeus have started confirming. That is very good. Keep up the good work. I will start patch moderating now. The more you confirm, the faster it will go.

Hello everybody.

The confirm button seems to be active and working now. Try it out and let me know if everything is cool. Also, the more you confirm, the quicker we get stuff moderated.

Currently there is no automatic accept, so we still will moderate, but your confirm votes will lead us there. Also, VIP users confirm votes will get checked quicker like always. We will figure out some statistics on the votes and make it automatic.

Currently there is a low level restriction of 5. So basically, total newbies cannot use it and yet most, who know the site can use it.

Lets see how it works out and then tweak it.

Also voting was a little bugged. Basically some comment makers didn't get event, but the OP did. That has been fixed and should explain the unfair votes a little. For example, when the comment got downvoted, then it actually went to the original post. Weird, but fixed. Hopefully I can run a script over it, re-calculating everything.

The commenting not working might be related to the upgrades I did just now. But then again there is some server related hung-outs, for them I really don't have a solution. Basically, if the the comment doesn't show and your textarea is wiped clean, then click ctrl + Z for undo, and you should get your comment back.. Copy reload and paste and new comment. I will soon check, if I can detect it and when it doesn't post, you can simply click the submit again.

The idea about Correct button who can applied by anyone seems good for me.., & this way can reduce the Moderation time.., Moderation is never be easy & spends much time..., but

Basically we will talk it over, maybe we make it level restricted. All in all, it doesn't affect your level, points or any other account related statistics.

One more thing. If you are getting back into the "Implementing changes"-mode, perhaps something to consider would be to revise the downvote button, or maybe remove it altogether. (If people wish to criticize, perhaps it would be best for them to do so by expressing themselves, thus being held accountable.) I don't think I am alone among fellow dedicated puzzle-solvers in having unjustified downvotes become an incentive to spend time elsewhere.

People hit that downvote button for the most incomprehensible reasons -- which may be all right, I suppose, in a regular forum that encourages conversation, but it is has become counter-productive here.

The button you are thinking of is a great idea on the surface, and perhaps it will help. On the other hand, too many of Name That Porn's  fly-by-night users do not strike me as responsible, so giving such power to those who don't think too much and are quick on the trigger could add up to a lot of inaccuracies.

While you were around, the Solved Ratio had hit a glorious high of 68%; currently, it has dipped to 48%. No doubt when you go through the mountain of solutions that number will rise... but I'd say you have returned in the nick of time.

Actually I have an idea. The vote for correct button's issue was the algorithm, that calculates the possibility of all the users being correct about voting correct.

However, we can do this. I will create that button and we will see it in a list manually. That will reduce the moderation time considerably and from that point, we can see the patterns and make it automatic.

I will let you know, when the button is ready and you guys can start using it :)

Hello guys. Sorry for the delay. We will patch moderate a punch of posts soon and we will figure out a way, to finish the following module.. so users will be asked a email and will be notified once the post has updated. That should raise the solved ratio.

We have big plans, however the winter is a busy time, so bare with us. We are also most likely gonna advance the community moderator tools and hire some full time moderators. That is before we will rewrite the full site and remove the BETA status.

The "MARK AS CORRECT" issue has been discussed in some detail below; the operator did a great job in fixing it up, as it once had kinks. T0rtilla is right, many users aren't even aware of this button, which, when added to the ones who don't care (you know, the ones who only care about getting the goods), naturally results in standstill scoring.

Ladybouvier, only the operator or the asker can MARK AS CORRECT -- as far as I know. In addition, the ones who are gaining points are getting them only because of the few who are MARKING AS CORRECT. I've answered like a million questions already, and my score is still stuck, whereas others... why, they just keep going up. It's a roll of the dice.

Joses1, to upload a screenshot (within your answer, right? Not when you post a question... 'cause you can't post a question without uploading the picture), all you've got to do is place the link (make sure there is a "picture" suffix to the link, like JPG, GIF, etc.); if you take the link from a site, it may not show. There are smut-friendly image-hosters such as Imgur or Picsee that allow the pictures to be hot-linked. (In other words, you would crop and save a picture to your computer, assuming the image hoster disallows uploads directly from other sites, and then upload from your computer to the image-hoster. You'll get a hot-linkable link that you simply place within your answer.)

Don't give up the faith, those who are feeling discouraged... just try to keep in mind the scores are superficial, and concentrate on whatever fun you get otherwise from doing what you nobly do. And don't forget, our beloved questioners need you, and appreciate you. (Okay, okay, they just need you.)

The person who makes a question is the one who can mark a answer as correct (and I guess that the operator can make the same in every question). I have to say that until two days ago I didn't know that I had to mark as correct the answers I receive, so I suppose that many of the questioners don't know it too, especially those who are not users.

I've answered several unanswered questions but haven't received any points for them. Because of this, I feel discouraged and don't feel like helping anymore :(
Can someone please do something about this issue?

Ok, I just saw another person having the same issue and Know-way responded saying that the operator was away. But then, how is it that several others including Know-way are still gaining points? I'm not asking this in a rivalry note or anything. :) Just curious to know what's going on.

Hi, Uromyias_agilis; yes, the last thing a man wants to be reminded of is his inability to score. But we're all in the same boat! The Operator has apparently taken a vacation, and hopefully he will be returning, soon.

But in a way, it's not a bad situation. Kind of a reminder that the best reason to do what we are doing is not to build up a scoreboard -- which is kind of fun in its way, yet ultimately meaningless -- but for our own amusement, and to lend a helping hand.

Meanwhile it's also interesting to see how our beloved questioners are handling their responsibility of checking on their questions and (when their puzzles are solved) of hitting the "MARK AS CORRECT" button. The answer is... pretty dismally! Yep, they are as aloof and uncaring and selfish as ever.

And, of course, still not very polite. I had occasion to check my profile page a day later, and was flummoxed to see I had received not one but TWO downvotes... when I didn't recall writing anything to upset anyone. So I clicked through my latest comments and I discovered I had received these two downvotes for the same post. And there was really no reason; I made an innocent point about how unusual the picture was, hopefully to amuse visitors. Well, I couldn't resist giving the careless critics a piece of my mind... if interested:
