Well, this is what I know: Both the guy who ask and the moderators can mark an answer as correct but in different ways. The asking one can simply click on the Mark as correct button under their desired comment. For the moderators, any member whose level is 5 or above can confirm an answer as correct, but confirmation only doesn't count. Moderators will review those answers and mark them.
Correct me if I'm wrong xD

Can an admin let us know what is going on with marking items correct? If there is no progress, there isn't much incentive. If things are backed up no problem, it would just be great to know what is up. Thx.

You earn points by answering posts correctly and being approved. Some posts have extra points, marked in red just under the user's name. Answering those will get you to 5 quickly if mods start marking answers correct again.

Is answer-marking backed up? I've not had an answer marked correct in over a week, even with proper tags and confirms.

Is there anywhere that explains the leveling system? like how many points needed for each lvl up?

@caveman8223 Best way is to edit your question, by adding more information to it or by adding a comment, where you offer your soul.

How can I "bump" my posts so that they are more visible after a few days?

@JmsHetfld You can mention the username, who has the marked correct. He could maybe edit it. Or flag it and explain, what is going on. Only admins can un-mark it.
