Regarding your question about the OP answering their own question. It is allowable occasionally, as long as the OP doesn't appear to be abusing the system.
In your case however, that hasn't happened.
You've commented on three questions:
Question 1 - not yet confirmed by anybody.
Question 2 - confirmed by the OP & you received the points.
Question 3 - somebody else answered after you & the OP accepted their answer rather than yours.
It's always worth adding the name of the performer even if the OP knows it, as it will be added to the database to be seen by others, as in the case of the answer to question 3.
Make sure you answer question 1 again, formatting the name correctly.
When you move up a few levels you'll be able to edit your own answers.
You can level up more quickly be answering older questions that are worth more points.
Make sure you submit your answers to the Confirm Thread as it's easier to get them solved, particularly older questions:

AnsweredI can't upload as points too low, but when I try to provide answers on other posts, the exact link I post with the answer gets copied and pasted by the OP user and they claim the max points!

There was nothing really wrong with your answer.
She's known under more than one name.
The second answerer added a second name & presumably, that's why the OP chose that one.
It's always worth checking the NTP database when you have a name & if there's more than one & you can provide proof links to them, adding the extra names to your answer

Having said that, in most cases, nobody else would have submitted an answer & you would have gotten the points.

The only guaranteed way of getting a post solved quickly is if the OP accepts it.
This isn't going to happen in your case as the OP disappeared six years ago.
You'll generally need a lot more than one confirm to get an answer accepted as solved.
It depends on the quality & rating of the people confirming you, & also, on your own reputation as an answerer, which is obviously non-existent at this point.
The only time most people will notice your answer is in the brief period when you've just answered. It will appear in The Latest Answers & Comments section on the left of the screen & also will go to the top of the list if you check page 1 of the Videos/Photos/GIFs section.
Your chances of getting it confirmed after 2-3 days have gone by is very remote.
But worry not, there is another way. You need to submit your answer to the Confirm Thread:

Can you delete an answer or comment after you submit one? I don't see an option to
