Hello, boys. I've been away for many months, but the last time I was here I had gone on a binge and had answered many questions.

I was surprised to see I had no "level up" when I returned, and when I went to my profile page's "Activity," I could see the reason why... extremely few of my answers have been approved.

Well, that's just the name of the game in Name That Porn. The reason why I'm sounding off here is because of something I had noticed those months ago, and I see the situation may have grown worse.

Whenever someone has given a correct answer but his answer has not been approved for technical reasons (names not correctly formatted), I have often tried to steer the approval toward them. Sometimes I've put the names in brackets, but I've placed a note stating the credit belongs to the one who came up with the answer.

Now this is what troubled me; I placed a comment there explaining in more detail what has happened:

So briefly, I had come up with the correct answer (seven months ago). As with almost all of my other answers, it has been standing still, without approval. So now NinNin came along (nine days ago), and provided a new answer. He didn't make any reference to the answer that had already been provided, as I would have done.

This is immoral and not honorable.

But what surprised even more was that Dicklongwood came along and... approved NinNIn's answer.

Now why would Dicklongwood have done that? Dicklongwood can read. He could see the answer was already provided seven months ago. (If he is to confirm a correct answer, it is his responsibility to confirm the first correct answer.)

I am getting a clue with NinNIn's post (#65558721) nine or ten posts below:

@dmac85 I will gladly help you with confirms if you could do the same for me: I have two recent sets of posts on this thread. The same applies to everyone :)

(And then Dmac replied, "@NinNin consider it done, thanks.)

I think what is happening here is that the work of approvals got to be too much for the operators, and they implemented the system of confirms among our members. Not that if an answer gets a confirm it gets approved automatically (I know that's not the case from the huge backlog of answers I gave that have not been approved, even though some members have been kind enough to confirm them), but I also know of times when a confirm has led to instant approvals.

So if an operator is not involved, and if the one who had asked the question does not mark his question as "solved," then I suspect there are times when confirms can lead to approvals.

Could it be some of these members who are score-crazy and who have forgotten all about their principles are working together? Are they approving each other's new answers, displacing the older and as-of-yet unapproved correct answers?

Now check out what I wrote six months ago:

"I am giving Tarzanknight my CONFIRM, and I urge everyone else to do so; if he returns and creates a new post with the name tags, make sure to give that answer a confirm, as well. (Please do not give my comment your confirm!)"

I wanted Tarzanknight to get the points. It's only fair; he came up with the correct solution. (And he is only at Level 2. Hey, give him a break, you greedy others, who have gone over a hundred points.)

On the other hand, I put the names in brackets mainly as a service to the "Pornstar Directory," so technically, even though I don't deserve the points (because Tarzanknight did the work), the next in line to get the points would be me.

Now look at what Jayrising has done. (I remember the last time I was here, I noticed example after example of how Jayrising would behave in a similar fashion, that would have made the classic yo-ho-ho'ing pirates of old envious.) He was kind enough to give my answer a "Confirm." But then...

Jayrising went on to post his own post, with the same information. The question was, "Name of Porn or Actresses?", and I provided both in brackets, which Tarzanknight had failed to do. But here is where the plot thickens:

NinNin went on to give Jayrising's a confirm!

Now why would NinNin have done that, just as why would Dicklongwood have done what he did, in my first example, when there has already been an answer that was correctly given, yet not approved? A clue:

Jayrising responded: "@NinNin Thanks!!!"

Conclusion: If confirms sometimes expedite approvals, independent of moderator action (as I suspect, based on past experience... sometimes, you know how on the first page for new questions, someone gives an answer, it's confirmed, and immediately approved... while the other fresh correct answers are ignored; naturally, at least some could result from the questioner's marking as "solved") then what these fellows appear to be doing is feeding off each other, in a "You scratch my back, and I will scratch yours" fashion. This is how they can hijack older threads with as-of-yet-unapproved correct answers, and gain hundreds of accumulated points, as NinNin had done with my first example.

Operators: You can't allow this foul practice to continue. It simply is not right. There are times, as we all know, how it could take hours to come up with the answers. No one would like having all of their hard work pirated by some eager beaver who has no care for scruples.

This is the case even if a member does not care about points, as myself. Yet it's the principle of the thing. Operators, this is why I'm also going to request you look into my first example, and give the credit where it was due.
