Searching by Gifs/short videos
tl;dr - Use https://ezgif.com/video-to-apng
Searching by a gif is the same thing as searching by it's first frame. It's better to search using the first frame, because Google Lens will refuse to handle gifs.
For NameThatPorn.com there's a quick way to get the gif's preview image. Right click on the video, select Copy Video Address, you'll get a URL like this:
static.namethatporn.com/media/displays/2023/07/28/8FFJXZOYA783V_looking-for-the-full-video-with-this-girl-who-gets-the-cumshot.mp4
remove static. from the front of the url and replace the .mp4 extension at the end with .jpg and you'll get an image you can search with. This is one of the use cases where NameThatPorn.com's reverse image search is actually useful, since gifs are usually copied around and not altered.
You can read the HTML code of a page to find either the og:image or twitter:image link, which will be the site's idea of a preview image and use that to search.
My preferred method involves using https://ezgif.com/video-to-apng
1) Download the clip. If right clicking and selecting "Save Video as" doesn't' work, you can usually google "Download video" and find an online tool to do it
2) Use Video to animated PNG converter by EzGif to create a gallery of screenshots at once
https://ezgif.com/video-to-apng -- upload limit is 100MB
Select the lowest frame rate and select don't animate, output a sequence of PNG images
The first generated image will the first frame of a clip, and search with it will bring up other source for the clip, and the rest of the screenshot gallery will give additional images to search with.

Image Searching NameThatPorn.com
tl;dr - Use Image Search Options
It's only occasionally useful because it's stymied by even a slightest alteration of an image. But when it does return some relevant results, you get an answer right away. It's most useful for gifs, which aren't as easily altered. Searching for a gif is equivalent to searching for its first frame.
I found a browser extension that allows the user to set up custom reverse image searches:
Image Search Options
for Firefox
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/image-search-options/
for Chrome
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/image-search-options/kljmejbpilka
dikecejccebmccagifhl
This was originally developed for Firefox, so the Chrome version has a lot less features.
The URL for NTP image search is
namethatporn.com/search/images.html?url=image url
Just add this as one of the site urls in the Image Search Options's settings.
I haven't found another use for this extension, because the Search by Image extension is better for the sites it covers. I don't know of another image search site that would be useful and isn't known to Search by Image

Pimeyes Face Search Engine
Pimeyes.com is the only face recognition engine that is worth a damn, in my experience. It can give you results when searching using mainstream search engines fails.
For free, they will only show you a page with blurred thumbnails and ask you to pay for the rest, but we can bypass that using the Search by Image extension.
Pimeyes also limits free users to 3 searches per day per an IP address, so don't use Pimeyes unless you've already tried other methods and failed. Unlock many other services, they don't block VPN ips from accessing their site, so this restriction can be easily bypassed using a VPN.
Install Search by Image browser extension, and set it to Select Image mode
Howto: (post #1894420) https://tinyurl.com/5n746sux
Go to Search by Image options and enable Pimeyes in the search site list (it's usually at the bottom but I've dragged it to the top)
Right click on the source image and select Pimeyes
The images where the person is looking straight on into the camera work best. Profile pics, faces obscured by glasses, hats or other objects make Pimeyes struggle.
Pimeyes will also work better when the source person has generated more images on the web. Which means that celebs will give better results than pornstars, who will generate better matches than onlyfans girls and camgirls, and the worst results will be for random ordinary people who don't promote themselves.
Go back into Search by Image options and deselect Pimeyes. Pimeyes actually can use it's own thumbnails as input, but it's better not to waste the 3 search you're allowed per day.
Now right click on a preview thumbnail and use Search by Image to try to find the original pic:
Most of the time, you will get no results. Yandex is the best at recovering the original image from the blurred thumbnail provided by Pimeyes, and Tineye can also sometimes do it, but they both have crawled much less of the web than Google. Google can only connect the thumbnail to the original at best 5% of the time. But Pimeyes gives you dozens of thumbnails, and clicking through all of them will give you some unblurred image to follow most of the time.
But for image, the search site that actually returns a result turns to be Google:

Search by Image Extension
by Armin Sebastian
This allows search multiple reverse image search engines with a single click. You can also capture parts of the screen and search by it in one action, which is incredibly useful.
Available for Chrome
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/search-by-image/cnojnbdhbhnkbciee
ekonklommdnndci
and Firefox
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/search_by_image/
and other browsers
https://github.com/dessant/search-by-image#readme
Pin this extension to the toolbar. For best results, change the default settings
I've only found four search engines to be useful when images searching for XXX content:
Google, Yandex, TinEye and Google Lens. Google Lens isn't turned on by default, so enable it. You'll need to turn off Safesearch on all of them. Turning off safe search for Google Images also turns it off for Google Lens. It's important to use both Google Images and Google Lens, because they return different results. In particular, Google Lens is more forgiving of slight image variation.
As for other general purpose search sites, I never got Bing, Baidou or Sogou to yield any useful results (maybe I'm missing something). The rest of sites this extension knows about seem to be special purpose sites, which don't seem to be useful for porn image searching. Maybe you guys know better?
There are several modes that Search By Image can use:
Select URL will feed the image search engines the image URL
Select Image will feed the image search engines the image data
Capture will prompt you to select a screen area and then use that screencap to search
Select Image is better than Select URL because
1) some sites, including namethatporn won't allow search engines to access their images
2) many sites use image data elements, and these won't work with Select URL. Examples include the Google Image search preview thumbnails and Pimeyes result preview thumbnails.
Capture is incredibly useful, because it allows you to take a shot of a video, to select a single frame from video screens, to select only the relevant part of an image and then to search by it immediately.
Since both Capture and Select Image modes are useful, I've chosen to use Select Image from context menu and Capture from the toolbar button.
Now simply right click an NTP question image and search every useful engine in one click:
